Infective endocarditis(IE)is a serious fatal cardiovascular infectious disease,with low incidence,but high mor-tality,poor prognosis,and destruction,which can cause a variety of serious complications.In recent years,IE has been associ-ated with high mortality and morbidity,although treatment has improved.Therefore,early diagnosis of IE is very important for the treatment and prognosis of patients with IE.As an easily available,low-cost and non-invasive imaging modality,echocardiog-raphy plays an irreplaceable role in the diagnosis and treatment of IE.This article reviews the application progress and future prospect of echocardiography in the diagnosis and treatment of IE.
