The Development Background,Practice Model and Challenges of Oncology Social Work
Since the 21st century,due to the transformation of medical models,the attention to the diverse needs of patients,as well as the influence of national policies and international experience,oncology social work in China has witnessed initial development.Based on the ecological systems theory,oncology social work carried out psychosocial intervention from the micro,meso,and macro levels,and summarized some local practical experience.However,due to limiting factors such as policy planning,organizational support,and internal development,the sustainable development of oncology social work has been challenged.This article concludes by proposing that oncology social work should adhere to demand-oriented and family-oriented approach,pay attention to the environmental resources and support system of patients.With a perspective of strengths and empowerment,a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and comprehensive management,oncology social work aims to meet the psychosocial needs of patients and their families,thereby enhancing the quality of life.
