A Study of Public Trust in Expert Systems during Public Health Emergencies
The risk society is filled with uncertainty,as social risk factors are constantly increasing, trust relationships between the public and expert systems in public health emergencies are plagued by issues such as"limited"trust replacing complete reliance, blind conformity, and trust deficiency. In light of these problems, this paper analyzes the reasons for the issues in the trust relationship between the public and expert systems from the perspective of risk communication. These reasons primarily include the cognitive gap between experts and the general public, inappropriate media coverage that undermines expert credibility, and the lack of dialogue mechanisms that impact the effectiveness of expert opinion dissemination.Based on this analysis, the paper proposes effective strategies to restore and adjust the trust relationship between the public and expert systems, including implementing mechanisms for public participation and communication, regulating news media reporting, and optimizing the expression of expert risk discourse.
