The Enlightenment of Adam Smith's Virtue Thought to the Cultivation of Medical Personnel's Virtue
Under a market economy,the pursuit of self-interest requires moral constraints.How to help the medical personnel overcome moral dilemma is a theoretical and practical issue that must be faced directly.Based on Adam Smith's thought of virtue,this research discusses the importance of virtue ethics in the cultivation of medical personnel's virtue.By examining prudence,justice,benevolence,and self-command as four virtues possessed by individuals,a practical connection is established with the cultivation of medical personnel's virtue.The insights from virtue ethics in a market economy context for the cultivation of medical personnel's virtue are outlined as follows:using the virtue of prudence to enhance professional competence,employing the virtue of justice to safeguard patients'health interests,applying the virtue of benevolence to enhance patient well-being,and practicing the virtue of self-command for self-management.The aim is to provide intellectual support for the cultivation of medical personnel's virtue,fostering the harmonious development of doctor-patient relationship.
