The Impact of Policy Alienation on Trust in Healthcare Institutions among the Elderly
This study explored whether policy alienation affects the level of trust that the elderly have in healthcare institutions,proposing new strategies to improve the efficiency of elderly people's healthcare policy utilization.A survey was conducted using the healthcare policy alienation scale and healthcare institution trust questionnaire on individuals aged 60 and above in three cities in Anhui Province.The results indicated that the average score for policy alienation among the elderly in the effective sample is 3.03±0.48,suggesting a moderately elevated level of alienation towards current healthcare policy.Policy alienation significantly and negatively affected the trust of the elderly in healthcare institutions,reducing the efficiency of policy utilization and potentially impacting the health issues of the elderly.Thus,there is an urgent need for improvement.Therefore,the focus should be on healthcare policy promotion and age-appropriate healthcare policy adjustments,emphasizing the utilization side of healthcare policy to advance policy reforms.
