Historical Characteristics and Contemporary Value of Medical Literature in Daily-use Books
Since its inception in the late Southern Song Dynasty,daily-use books have included medical literature and exhibited diverse features over time.From historical and synchronic perspectives,three historical characteristics of medical literature in daily-use books are summarized:polarization of content types,practicality of medical knowledge and the timeliness of information sources.As an essential component of traditional Chinese medicine culture,medical literature in daily-use books contributes not only to the academic research in sinology,the history of traditional Chinese medicine,the history of publishing culture,and popular culture but also holds practical significance in the compilation of introductory medical books,popularization of traditional Chinese medicine,and the inheritance and dissemination of traditional Chinese medicine culture.
