Enabling Posthumous Medical Data Donation:A Plea for Ethical Utilization of Personal Health Data
Posthumous medical data donation holds significant importance for scientific research. However, there is currently a lack of targeted guidelines to guide the donation process. The unregulated use of posthumous medical data may pose various risks, including harm to the interests of others and the improper use of data. Therefore,it is essential to draw parallels with existing donation systems, allowing and encouraging the donation of posthumous medical data for scientific research, along with drafting specific donation guidelines. The development of these guidelines should be based on adherence to five fundamental principles, advocating for the voluntary participation in the use of personal medical data and opposing the use of data for medical research based on case records without written consent.
