The rise of narrative medicine and caring ethics has sparked a surge in the exploration of empathy.Voices of different ethical choices have emerged.Starting from the dimension of philosophical rhetoric, this article makes an in-depth analysis of the semantic category of empathy, and fully distinguishes the intertextuality of empathy, namely non-empathy,anti-empathy,and pseudo-empathy.We further explore the paradox and alienation of empathy in clinical situations, and discuss the expansion and construction of empathy in narrative medicine, such as refined close reading and aesthetic acquisition of empathy, how to activate the syllogistic cognition of"empathy-reflection-doctor-patient community",and how to eliminate the isolation of"empathy",so as to clarify the status and significance of empathy in clinical practice in the whole-person medical model.
