The expansion of empathy skills contributes to the establishment of harmonious doctor-patient relationships. However, with the continuous advancement of medicine, there has been a diminishing emphasis on empathy training for healthcare professionals, leading to evident drawbacks. This paper focuses on the necessity of empathy in the medical field and explores avenues for its expansion within the context of the social care model.Comparative to the traditional medical model, diverse perspectives on doctor-patient relationships, illness experiences, and the meaning of life are emerging, resulting in distinct demands for empathy.Discussions centered around the social care principles of"presence"and"intersubjectivity"are conducive to enhancing the depth and breadth of empathy skills, providing effective approaches for the expansion of empathetic capacities.
