The Formation of the Medical Education System in Medieval European Universities from the Perspective of Institutional Analysis
The formation and changes of the medical education system in medieval European universities were influenced by three factors:knowledge, power, and ideology. From the perspective of institutional analysis, this process mainly includes three changes:specialization of knowledge, balance of power, and objectification of ideology.Knowledge specialization reflects the adaptation of educational systems to the logic of knowledge development through the process of cognitive mechanisms.Balancing power is the continuous adjustment of power structures within the educational system to achieve equilibrium.Objectification of ideology is the gradual process by which shared beliefs and perspectives embodied in the educational system become more objective through legitimacy mechanism. The formation and transformation of the medical education system in medieval European universities are essentially the result of power balance, objectification of ideology, and specialization of knowledge.
