A Scope Review of Self-advocacy Intervention in Chronic Illness Patients
This paper reviewed the relevant studies on self-advocacy intervention for chronic disease patients through a scope review,and identified the intervention content and outcome indicators of self-advocacy.The results showed that the intervention content of self-advocacy included six themes:information support,disease decision-making,effective communication,peer support,psychological support,and self-care.The intervention forms included five types:knowledge training,multimedia intervention,entertainment-based intervention,group counseling,and psychological interventions.Outcome indicators encompass effectiveness evaluation and feasibility assessment.The self-advocacy intervention of chronic disease patients exhibit multifaceted and diversified characteristics,demonstrating positive effects and feasibility.In future studies,personalized intervention and comprehensive outcome assessment can be taken as the research focus to enrich relevant research in the field of self-advocacy.
