Perinatal Experience:A Study Based on the Fetal Period
The method of experimental psychology was mainly used to study the perinatal experience, that is,the psychological development process of the fetuses.Firstly, during the perinatal period, all the sensory systems of a human being are being shaped and are receiving incoming information without exception.Secondly, emotional development can be detected during the second trimester.Furthermore, there is the sensation of bodily wholeness, which develops after the 25th week of pregnancy and that constitutes the first mental representation of the self ontogenetically.Additionally, the subjective reality of time and space continuum begins to form from the 8th week of fetal development.Lastly, prenatal sensations create archetypes and archetypal patterns that permeate the unconscious structures of subjective reality during its entire existence. The essential elements of perinatal experience form psychological and behavioral framework at the later stages.
