A Comparative Analysis of Academic Systems in Major Developed Countries in Medicine and Implications
The construction of the"New Medical Science"has put forward new requirements for strengthening China's medical academic system.The study establishes a framework for analyzing the medical academic system,which includes academic training,academic research and academic evaluation.It examines and summarizes the historical development,distinctive features and development trends of the medical academic system in five developed countries,namely,the United States,the United Kingdom,Japan,Germany and France.Developed countries have synergistic training mechanism integrating teaching and research,strict quality control systems in education,diverse funding mechanism and multi-dimensional evaluation system focusing on application.It is suggested that China's medical education should promote interdisciplinary integration,allocate and regulate research funding with an application-oriented approach,and attach importance to the assessment system of medical education-industry-research cooperation to enhance the construction of China's medical academic system.
