The Adjustment and Shift in Traditional Chinese Medicine Policies in the Early Period of the People's Republic of China:A Study Based on the First Conference of Chinese Medicine Representatives in Jilin Province
In the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, there was a period of exploration on how to develop Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM),which even led to serious deviations, triggering a series of problems that discriminated against TCM and necessitated an adjustment and shift in the policy of TCM.The first meeting of representatives of TCM practitioners was held in Jilin Province in March 1955,which epitomized the process of adjusting the policy of TCM by convening meetings of TCM practitioners'representatives all over the country. The meeting summarized the implementation of past TCM policies and clarified the direction of future development.Based on the historical data of that year,we restore the specifics of the first meeting of TCM representatives in Jilin Province, with a view to understand the development direction of TCM influenced by policies, and to gain a deeper understanding of this important transition and its far-reaching impact on the medical field in contemporary China.
