"One Health"is the collaborative effort of multiple disciplines conducted regionally, nationally, and globally to attain optimal health for humans, animals and the environment. This paper explores the origin, development, and characteristics of the"One Health"concept,as well as domestic and international consensus. It clarifies the theoretical compatibility of"One Health"with a dialectical view of nature and the feasibility of integrating it into China's ecological governance practices. Moreover,it investigates the various challenges faced during the localization process of the"One Health"concept and advocates for strengthening policy integration, intergovernmental cooperation, and disciplinary development to better fulfill its role as a theoretical guide and align it more closely with the needs of ecological governance. This will promote harmonious coexistence of man and nature.
