The Concept and Evaluation of Accessibility in Healthcare Services
The theoretical research on the accessibility of healthcare services in relevant academic fields in China is relatively scarce, with few articles systematically sorting and analyzing the connotation of accessibility. This article focuses on reviewing the conceptualization and operationalization of the accessibility of health services both domestically and internationally, revealing the contradictions and problems. It argues that the concept of accessibility should include the matching of"opportunity and capability"for service utilization, excluding the"willingness or outcome"of service utilization.Based on this understanding, the article constructs an accessibility assessment model that comprises four core process dimensions and two adaptation dimensions. It further emphasizes that the corresponding analytical dimensions and evaluation criteria should be dynamically adjusted according to specific contexts and needs in practical application.
