A Review of Application Research of Single-session Therapy
By reviewing the literature of single-session therapy abroad,this paper expounds its operation paradigm,clinical practices internationally,and effectiveness.Combining clinical survey data of single-session therapy in Shanghai and Nanjing,it is found that traditional medium and long-term psychotherapy is not the dominant form,and single session accounts for a relatively high proportion of the total number of consultations.Chinese psychological counselling practitioners should enhance their understanding and application of single-session therapy.It is a method under the meta-competency therapy paradigm,which involves the reconstruction and exploration of counselling objective,counselor-client relationship,and counselor competency.
