Comparative Study of International Egg Donation Systems and Insights
By comparing the regulations and practices of egg donation in various countries and regions, focusing on differences in age restrictions for donors and recipients, the number of eggs a single donor could provide, anonymity policies, and egg supply models, the study explores successful practices in the field of egg donation abroad. It is recommended that China should draw on the experiences of nations and regions with well-developed egg donation regulations to establish egg banks and human-assisted reproduction departments for systematic management of the egg donation process. It also recommends allowing relative egg donation to expand the donor pool, implementing a relatively anonymous egg donation system to protect all parties involved, and enacting comprehensive human-assisted reproduction legislation to regulate egg-sharing procedures and compensation mechanisms. These measures would enhance the egg donation practices in China and meet the growing demand for infertility treatments.
