Modern medicine is influenced by the classical scientific paradigm,which makes it easy to simplify the complexity of research object and overlooks certain underlying regularities.The modernisation of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)in recent years has drawn attention of the medical community to the neglected contents under the previous research paradigm and deepened modern medicine's understanding of life and disease.The knowledge construction model prevalent in TCM practice is more inclusive of the complexity,uncertainty,and conditional constraints of research objects,so there is still a wealth of contents behind its long-accumulated clinical efficacy that has yet to be revealed by modern medicine.The ongoing shift from classical scientific paradigm to complexity scientific paradigm provides more suitable conditions for TCM research.In the process of creative transformation of Chinese and Western medicine from complementarity to integration,modern medicine may also achieve a certain degree of self-revolution and explore new frontiers.
