Benjamin McLean Spock was an outstanding pediatrician,educator,thinker,and social activist in 20th century America.The parenting philosophy he proposed has evolved over a long period of time and successfully integrated psychoanalysis with the study of children's personality formation and development.He skillfully transformed psychoanalytic theory into practical pediatric advice,and flexibly applied and promoted it,not only setting a new benchmark in the history of psychoanalysis,but also promoting the deep integration of pediatrics,psychology,education,and sociology.This paper comprehensively studies Spock's parenting philosophy from a historical perspective and deeply analyzes its practical significance,aiming to provide valuable historical insights for the study of parenting methods in China.
