The problem of social cognitive impairment in schizophrenics is a key factor contributing to their social deficits.Currently,theory theory and simulation theory are widely used as the two dominant theories to explain social cognitive deficits in schizophrenia,but both presuppose an epistemological inferentialism position.The theory of direct social perception,critiques inferentialism explanations of social cognitive deficits in schizophrenia and creates reciprocal constraints with various psychiatric,clinical phenomenological,and cognitive neuroscience evidences,which can help to clarify the embodied characteristics of schizophrenia and replenish the lack of natural self-evidence in the understanding of social interactions.Future research could utilize cutting-edge technologies such as the emerging interpersonal neuroscience research paradigm to further explore the neural mechanisms of schizophrenia's direct social perception deficits and their philosophical significance.
