This article takes POEMS syndrome as an example to demonstrate how to use UpToDate to assist in the diagnosis of complicated diseases.This article describes in detail the clinical data,examination results and treatment process of a 54-year-old female patient.According to the characteristics of the case,with the help of UpToDate,this paper combs professional knowledge and clinical diagnostic ideas,including screening of diabetes polyneuropathy,diagnosis of Cushing's syndrome,etiology of hypogonadotropic hypogonadism,diagnosis of chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy,and gradually clarifies diagnostic evidence on the basis of multidisciplinary cooperation.Through the complementary use of UpToDate and PubMed database,a comprehensive interpretation of clinical conditions is achieved.
