This paper aims to explore the differences in perspectives between Traditional Chinese and Western medicine,and analyzes their impact on the diagnosis and treatment process.First of all,Western medicine is characterized by an objective physician perspective,focusing on exploring the mechanisms of disease occurrence,and the diagnostic and treatment process primarily relies on examination results and data.In contrast,Traditional Chinese Medicine places more emphasis on the patient's subjective perspective,paying attention to individual differences and the overall condition of the patient.Based on these perspective differences,this paper further thoroughly discusses five essential characteristics of Traditional Chinese Medicine:metaphorical language,holistic view,syndrome differentiation and treatment,diverse therapeutic methods,and the necessity of medical ethics.This paper points out that the lack of emphasis on the patient's perspective is the key issue faced by Traditional Chinese Medicine in the process of modernization.In order to achieve the sustainable development and modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine,it is necessary to adhere to a patient-centered diagnostic and treatment concept,fully reflect the unique value and advantages of Traditional Chinese Medicine,bring more comprehensive and profound understanding to human health,and ultimately improve the quality and effectiveness of medical services.
