The Economic Pressure and Coping Strategies of Rural Infertile Women Undergoing Assisted Reproductive Technologies Treatments
Based on a process-oriented perspective, this paper discusses the economic pressure and coping strategies of the rural infertile women in Guangxi undergoing assisted reproductive technologies(ARTs)treatments from three phases:pre-treatment,during treatment, and post-treatment.This paper finds that the economic pressure is closely linked to the high cost of ARTs and the low income of the rural people.Economic pressure persists throughout the treatment process, prompting infertile women to adopt a range of adaptive,multi-faceted strategies.Under the background of the Three-Child Policy and Healthy China 2030,this paper proposes policy recommendations, including decreasing the cost of ARTs,providing greater financial support to infertile couples in remote rural areas, reducing stigma, and exploring diverse treatment options.
