Objective To construct mouse models of hidden hearing loss(HHL)and noise-induced hearing loss and analyze the effects of military aviation noise exposure on the activation state of cochlear nucleus neurons in mice. Methods Male C57 mice with normal hearing were randomly divided into 3 groups and given 110 dB 2 h noise,115 dB 4 h noise and no noise exposure, respectively.Auditory brainstem response(ABR)tests and immunofluorescence staining of c-Fos protein in mouse cochlear nuclei were performed at 1,7,14 and 28 d after noise exposure. Results After noise exposure, the auditory threshold of the mice in HHL group experienced a temporary threshold shift, with a decrease in ABR Ⅰamplitude of supraliminal stimuli and an increase in the number of positive neurons expressing c-Fos protein in the cochlear nucleus. Conclusion Military aviation noise-induced HHL in mice is characterized by a temporary shift in auditory thresholds,a decrease in ABR Ⅰ wave amplitude of supraliminal stimuli, and hyperactivation of cochlear nucleus neurons.
