Sleep is an essential physiological process for everyone.About one third of a person's life is spent sleeping,and sleep deprivation(SD)or sleep disorders affect all stages of the body from embryo to old age.Postoperative delirium often occurs after surgery and general anesthesia.Although common,the exact mechanism of delirium has not been clarified in the world and needs to be studied urgently.In recent years,many studies and practices have shown that SD is related to the occurrence of delirium.This review summarizes some recent articles on the influence of SD on the body and the interaction between SD and delirium,so as to provide references for further clinical research on the damage of SD on the body and the relationship between SD and delirium.
