In modern warfare,the use of improvised explosive devices has led to an increasing proportion of external genital warfare injuries,and the occurrence pattern and characteristics have also changed.The mechanism of trauma has changed from bullet penetrating injury to explosive injury,and the type of combat injuries has changed from single organ injury to multiple organ injury.However,there are few and unsystematic studies on genitourinary warfare injuries in our military,and there is a lack of corresponding standardized treatment protocols and emergency procedures.In this review,a retrospective analysis of previous wars is conducted to reveal the characteristics and treatment progress of external genital warfare injuries in modern warfare and to establish a preliminary external genital warfare injury spectrum,in order to better guide the treatment of external genital warfare injuries in wartime,thus providing a reference for further research on genitourinary warfare injuries.
