Chronic pain is a common chronic disease in clinical practice, with a high incidence rate and a variety of concomitant diseases, such as sleep disorders, fatigue, anxiety, and depression.Meanwhile, affective disorders such as anxiety and depression in turn lead to prolonged pain duration and exaggerated pain intensity, bringing about a vicious cycle between pain and affective disorders and endangering the quality of life of patients. Therefore, how to alleviate chronic pain and comorbid affective disorders is a hot and challenging issue in the field of neuroscience and medicine. In recent years,a large number of studies have focused on elucidating the underlying mechanisms and made breakthrough progress in the clinical investigation, brain region regulation and molecular basis in the development of comorbidity of chronic pain and affective disorders. This study summarizes the occurrence, development and potential mechanism of the comorbidity of chronic pain and affective disorders from different perspectives, and makes prospects for future research directions and clinical translation, aiming to provide guidance for the in-depth exploration and clinical treatment of chronic pain.
