Research progress of Chinese medicine regulating indoxyl sulfate related body injury in the intervention of chronic kidney disease and its complica-tions
In recent years,indoxyl sulfate,an enteric-borne uremic toxin,has been found to be closely related to the occurrence and development of chronic kidney disease and its complications.Clinical trials and basic trials on the regulation of body damage caused by indoxyl sulfate with traditional Chinese medicine as the intervention object have been gradually completed,and the exploration of some possible mechanisms has also achieved initial results.It mainly intervenes in the occurrence and development of chronic kidney disease and complications by adjusting the proportion of intestinal flora,reducing the synthesis of the precursor of indoxyl sulfate and preventing the initiation of the aromatic hydrocarbon receptor pathway.This paper systematically reviews the clinical evidence and mechanism exploration of indoxyl sulfate as the therapeutic target of traditional Chinese medicine,in order to provide more evidence-based basis and train of thought reference for the further development of traditional Chinese medicine in this field.
