Research progress on the mechanism of statin against prostate cancer
Prostate cancer is often accompanied by changes in lipid regulatory mechanisms, abnormal angiogenesis, and radiation resistance during its development process.Statin can inhibit the growth of prostate cancer from multiple aspects, improve the prognosis of prostate cancer patients, and to a certain extent, can be used as a choice for clinical adjuvant treatment of prostate cancer. This article reviews the new research progress of statin in the mechanism of action against prostate cancer, including inhibition of mevalonate pathway, regulation of cell autophagy, regulation of ferroptosis, cell cycle arrest, regulation of tumor microenvironment, and so on.This article aims to provide reference and basis for new clinical regimens and basic research on the use of statin in the treatment of prostate cancer.
