Analysis of influencing factors for poor quality of intestinal preparation before colonoscopy in children
Objective To explore the influencing factors for poor quality of intestinal preparation before colonoscopy in children. Methods A total of 400 children undergoing colonoscopy admitted to Anhui Children's Hospital from May 2021 to April 2023 were selected as the study objects. They were divided into qualified group and unqualified group according to intestinal preparation.Clinical data of children of two groups were collected, and the factors leading to the poor quality of intestinal preparation before colonoscopy were analyzed. Results The proportion of constipation history in unqualified group was higher than that in qualified group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There were significant differences in the waiting time after intestinal preparation, the number of bowel movements after taking laxatives, the last stool character after taking laxatives, and the movement during periintestinal preparation period between two groups(P<0.05).Constipation history(OR=0.214),the waiting time after intestinal preparation(OR=1.549),and the movement during periintestinal preparation(OR=3.407)were the influencing factors for poor quality of intestinal preparation before colonoscopy in children period(P<0.05).Conclusion Constipation history, the waiting time after intestinal preparation, and movement during periintestinal preparation period are the influencing factors for poor quality of intestinal preparation before colon-oscopy in children.Clinical intervention can be focused on the above factors.
