Status of cancer-related fatigue and its correlation with quality of life in patients with acute leukemia undergoing chemotherapy
Objective To investigate the relationship between cancer-related fatigue(CRF)and quality of life in patients with acute myeloid leukemia(AML).Methods A total of 106 AML patients admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Hebei North University from September 2019 to September 2022 were selected to investigate the general conditions of the patients.Piper fatigue scale(PFS)and functional cancer therapy-leukemia(FACT-Leu)were used to evaluate the CRF and quality of life of the patients, and the correlation was analyzed. The total FACT-Leu scores of patients with different clinical features were compared and multiple linear regression analysis was performed. Results The PFS score and FACT-Leu score of 106 patients were(3.87±0.66)points and(104.60±7.94)points,and the two were negatively correlated(r=-0.296,P<0.05).There were significant differences in FACT-Leu scores among patients with different education level, course of disease, chemotherapy course, and PFS score(P<0.05).Multiple linear regression analysis showed that education level was positively correlated with the total score of FACT-Leu(B>0,P<0.05),chemotherapy duration and PFS score were negatively correlated with FACT-Leu score(B<0,P<0.05).Conclusion There is a significant correlation between CRF and the quality of life of AML patients treated with chemotherapy, and intervention for fatigue is beneficial to improve the quality of life.
