Based on Professor Guo Zhiqiang's clinical experience in the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome with acne based on the theory of"yin is often insufficient,but yang is not sufficient",this paper expounds the understanding of the etiology and pathogenesis of acne by traditional Chinese medicine doctors in past generations.Under the guidance of modern traditional Chinese medicine theory,the dialectics of this disease can be divided into kidney yin deficiency,kidney yang deficiency,liver stagnation,and spleen deficiency,and phlegm and blood stasis.Professor Guo believes that on the basis of the above treatment,regulating and tonifying kidney yin and kidney yang should be used throughout the course of the disease,and the treatment methods of soothing the liver,strengthening the spleen,and clearing dampness,and resolving phlegm,activating blood,and removing blood stasis should also be used.
