Research progress on pathogenesis of sepsis associated encephalopathy
Sepsis associated encephalopathy(SAE)is a complication of central nervous system secondary to sepsis. It is dangerous, has a poor prognosis, high mortality and many complications. Its pathogenesis is very complex, the specific etiology is still unclear.More and more studies have found that many factors, such as destruction of blood-brain barrier, activation of microglia, mitochondrial dysfunction, apoptosis, inflammatory reaction, and oxidative stress, are closely related to the occurrence and development of SAE.A deeper understanding of these mechanisms can help in early diagnosis and intervention, improving patient survival and quality of life.On the basis of the existing literature, this paper reviewed the research progress of SAE pathogenesis by referring to the relevant literatures at home and abroad.
