Research progress of the correlation between cervical spine paraspinal muscle degeneration and the occurrence of cervical spine diseases and surgical prognosis
As an important attachment structure around the cervical spine, the functional status of the cervical spine paravertebral muscle is closely related to the occurrence, and development of cervical spine diseases and the surgical prognosis.Degeneration of the paraspinal muscles of the cervical spine often induces cervical spine diseases by affecting cervical spine stability, sagittal balance, etc.,and has a certain correlation with the prognosis of cervical spine surgery, while cervical spine diseases accelerate cervical spine paraspinal muscle degeneration through different mechanisms, such as denervation, inflammation, and imbalance, etc. In this paper,we will review the relevance between the degeneration of the cervical spine paraspinal muscles, and the occurrence and surgical prognosis of cervical spine diseases from various aspects,in order to provide a reference for analyzing the etiology of cervical spine diseases and their treatment.
