Clinical effect of Bushen Guchi Pills combined with Beifuxin Gel on chronic periodontitis with syndrome of deficiency of kidney yin
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Bushen Guchi Pills combined with Beifuxin Gel on chronic periodontitis with syndrome of deficiency of kidney yin.Methods A total of 120 patients with chronic periodontitis with syndrome of deficiency of kidney yin admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangdong Pharmaceutical University from September 2021 to December 2022 were selected and divided into control group 1,control group 2,and study group according to random number table method,with 40 cases in each group.Control group 1 was treated with Befuxin Gel,control group 2 was treated with Bushen Guchi Pills,and study group was treated with Befuxin Gel combined with Bushen Guchi Pills.All three groups were treated for 12 weeks.After treatment,the clinical efficacy,symptom improvement time,and safety of the three groups were evaluated,and the periodontal status indexes and inflammatory factors levels of three groups before and after treatment were compared.Results The clinical effect of the study group was better than that of control group 1 and 2,and the improvement time of symptoms of bad breath,chewing pain,tooth loosening,and gingival edema was shorter than that of control group 1 and 2(P＜0.05).After treatment,the depth of periodontal pocket exploration,bleeding index score,periodontal plaque index,tumor necrosis factor-α,interleukin-6,and interleukin-1β in the three groups were lower than those before treatment,and those of study group were lower than those of control group 1 and 2(P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions among the three groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion Bushen Guchi Pills combined with Beifuxin Gel has high efficacy and safety in the treatment of chronic periodontitis,which is helpful to reduce the level of inflammation,and improve the clinical symptoms of patients.
