Application and effect evaluation of 3D printing model in sacral tumor teaching
Objective To evaluate the effect of 3D printing model in teaching of sacral tumors to residents. Methods Sixty professional postgraduate students rotating in the Department of Musculoskeletal Tumor,Peking University People's Hospital from September 2019 to August 2023 were selected as the research objects. They were divided into case-based learning(CBL)group(30 cases)and 3D printing combined with CBL group(30 cases)by block randomization method.CBL group adopted CBL model,3D printing combined with CBL group added 3D printing model on the basis of CBL group. After the course, the results of questionnaire survey and teaching quality of two groups were compared. Results The satisfaction of 3D printing combined with CBL group was higher than that of CBL group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The scores of questionnaire all dimensions(whether the course helps to understand the anatomy around the sacrum, whether the course helps to improve general ability, whether the course helps to understand the relationship between sacral tumor knowledge and surgical content, whether the course increases medical interest, and whether the course is pleasant and easy to learn, and whether the course improves your autonomy)and total score of 3D printing combined with CBL group were higher than those of CBL group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The theoretical assessment scores and clinical practice skill assessment scores of 3D printing combined with CBL group were higher than those of CBL group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion In the teaching process of sacral tumor, the use of 3D printing model can significantly improve students'learning motivation, theoretical, and practical ability, and enable students to have a deeper grasp of sacral tumor knowledge.
