Research progress on risk factors and prevention and control of nosocomi-al infection in patients treated with extracorporeal membrane oxygenation support
Patients receiving extracorporeal membrane oxygenation(ECMO)support therapy are at high risk for nosocomial infections. This paper reviews the risk factors and prevention and control measures of nosocomial infection in patients treated with ECMO support, and clarified the risk factors of nosocomial infection in this population from the aspects of patient-related factors,treatment-related factors, and environment and equipment factors;the prevention and control measures include rational catheterization and extubation operations, cleaning and disinfection, establishing professional teams, strengthening infection surveillance, monitoring drug concentration, and selection of catheter materials. The purpose of this paper is to provide leading edge guidance for medical staff and enhance professional knowledge in this field,so as to minimize the risk of infection and improve the quality of life of patients in ECMO supported treatment.
