Application effect of antibiotics combined with probiotics in patients with mandibular impacted wisdom tooth extraction
Objective To explore the application effect of antibiotics combined with probiotics in mandibular impacted wisdom tooth extraction.Methods A total of 82 patients undergoing mandibular impacted wisdom tooth extraction in Department of Stomatology,People's Hospital of Lu'an City,Anhui Province from January 2021 to January 2023 were selected and divided into control group and observation group according to random number table method,with 41 cases in each group.The control group was given Amoxicillin Clavulanate Potassium(4 d)after surgery,and the observation group was given probiotics based on the control group(probiotics for 7 d,Amoxicillin Clavulanate Potassium for 4 d).The pain and gastrointestinal symptoms,surgical site infection,and complications were compared between the two groups at 7,14,and 21 d after surgery.Results The numerical rating scale(NRS)scores of 14 and 21 d after surgery were lower than those of 7 d after surgery,and those of 21 d after surgery were lower than those of 14 d after surgery(P<0.05).The NRS scores of the observation group at 7,14,and 21 d after surgery were lower than those of the control group at the same time points(P<0.05).The incidence of gastric symptoms,intestinal symptoms,and diarrhea in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).No surgical site infection was found in both groups.There was no significant difference in the incidence of swelling,fever,mouth opening difficulty,and bleeding between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion After mandibular impacted wisdom tooth extraction,antibiotics combined with probiotics can effectively reduce postoperative pain,and the application effect is significant,worthy of promotion.
