Effect of fire dragon pot comprehensive moxibustion in the treatment of acute peripheral facial palsy with depression and anxiety
Objective To investigate the effect of fire dragon pot comprehensive moxibustion in the treatment of acute peripheral facial palsy(PFP)with depression and anxiety.Methods A total of 150 patients with acute PFP accompanied by depression and anxiety in Hangzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from March to September 2023 were selected and they were divided into the fire dragon pot group and reference group according to random number table method,with 75 cases in each group.Both groups were treated with routine treatment,on the basis of which the reference group was treated with acupoint application,and the the fire dragon pot group was treated with fire dragon pot moxibustion and acupoint application for 28 d.The efficacy,improved Portmann score,facial disability index score,self-rating anxiety scale(SAS),and self-rating depression scale(SDS)scores before and after treatment of the two groups were compared.Results The curative effect of the fire dragon pot group was better than that of reference group(P＜0.05).The modified Portmann and facial disability index physical function(FDIP)scores of the two groups after 14 and 28 d of treatment were higher than those before treatment,and the modified Portmann and FDIP scores of the two groups after 28 d of treatment were higher than those after 14 d of treatment(P＜0.05).The facial disability index social function(FDIS)scores of the two groups after 14 and 28 d were lower than those before treatment,and the FDIS scores of the two groups after 28 d of treatment were lower than those after 14 d of treatment(P＜0.05).After 14 and 28 d of treatment,the modified Portmann and FDIP scores in the fire dragon pot group were higher than those in the reference group,and the FDIS scores in the fire dragon pot group were lower than those in the reference group(P＜0.05).The scores of SAS and SDS in both groups after 14 and 28 d of treatment were lower than those before treatment,and the scores of SAS and SDS in both groups after 28 d of treatment were lower than those after 14 d of treatment(P＜0.05).After 14 and 28 d of treatment,the scores of SAS and SDS in the fire dragon pot group were lower than those in reference group(P＜0.05).Conclusion The curative effect of fire dragon pot moxibustion combined with acupoint application in the treatment of acute PFP patients with depression and anxiety is significant,which can more effectively improve the facial disability index and psychological state.
