Clinical study on the treatment of lumbocostal ligament injury by acupo-tomy release method
Objective To investigate the clinical effectiveness of acupotomy release method in the treatment of lumbocostal ligament injury.Methods A total of 80 patients with lumbocostal ligament injury treated in the pain clinic of the Seventh Medical Center,Chinese People's Liberation Army General Hospital from January 2015 to December 2018 were selected and they were divided into acupotomy group and acupuncture group according to random number table method,with 40 cases in each group.In the acupotomy group,the tender points of twelve ribs and iliac crest were relieved with acupotomy,once every three days,and a total of five times were treated.In the acupuncture group,sh ènsyú,mìngmén,wěizhōng,and ashi point were the main points,once every two days,and a total of eight times were treated.The visual analogue scale(VAS)and Oswestry disability index(ODI)score,Japanese orthopaedic association(JOA)low back pain score,and clinical efficacy were observed before and after treatment in the two groups.Results The VAS scores of both groups immediately after treatment and six months after treatment were lower than those before treatment(P<0.05).The VAS scores of acupotomy group immediately after treatment and six months after treatment were lower than those of acupuncture group(P<0.05).The ODI scores of both groups immediately after treatment and six months after treatment were lower than those before treatment(P<0.05).The ODI scores of acupotomy group immediately after treatment and six months after treatment were lower than those of acupuncture group(P<0.05).The JOA scores of both groups immediately after treatment and six months after treatment were lower than those before treatment(P<0.05).The JOA scores of acupotomy group immediately after treatment and six months after treatment were lower than those of acupuncture group(P<0.05).The clinical effect of acupotomy group was better than that of acupuncture group(P<0.05).Conclusion The treatment of lumbocostal ligament injury with acupotomy release method is more effective than that with acupuncture.
