Application of goal oriented intervention guided by COM-B model in patients with gestational diabetes mellitus
Objective To explore the effect of goal oriented intervention guided by the capability, opportunity, and motivation behaviour model(COM-B)in patients with gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM).Methods A total of 120 pregnant women with GDM who underwent prenatal examination at Nanjing First Hospital from July 2022 to March 2023 were selected as subjects, and they were divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, with 60 cases in each group. The control group received routine intervention, while the observation group received goal oriented intervention guided by the COM-B model on the basis of the control group. Both groups intervened until delivery was completed. The health behavior and blood glucose control before and after the intervention were compared. Results After intervention, the scores of diabetes self-management behavior scale were increased compared with before intervention in both groups, and those in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).There were significant differences in fasting blood glucose levels between the two groups at different time points(P<0.05).The fasting blood glucose levels in the observation group at 32 and 36 weeks of pregnancy were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Targeted interventions guided by the COM-B model can improve the health behavior of GDM patients, help control blood sugar levels.
