Study on the influencing factors of immediate intrauterine device place-ment after induced abortion in infertile women
Objective To explore the influencing factors of immediate placement of intrauterine device(IUD)in infertile women after induced abortion. Methods A retrospective study was conducted on the clinical data of 80 infertile women who underwent artificial abortion at Huaian Maternal and Child Health Hospital Affiliated to Yangzhou University from May 2021 to March 2023.According to whether the IUD was placed immediately after the artificial abortion,50 cases were placed in the IUD group and 30 cases were not placed in the non-IUD group, respectively. The general data of two groups were compared, the influencing factors of immediate placement of IUD after induced abortion in infertile women were identified through multivariate logistic regression analysis. Results The proportion of unemployed individuals in the IUD group, with a frequency of sexual activity ≥ 4 times per month,2-3 miscarriages, fertility needs in the past 2 years, and knowing that IUD can be placed immediately after abortion surgery was higher than that in the non-IUD group(P<0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that unemployment(OR=9.487),sexual activity frequency ≥ 4 times/month(OR=8.975),2-3 miscarriages(OR=10.568),fertility needs in the past 2 years(OR=9.154),and knowing that IUD can be placed immediately after abortion(OR=12.568)were all influencing factors for IUD placement in infertile women after artificial abortion(P<0.05).Conclusion The influencing factors for immediate placement of IUD after induced abortion in infertile women are unemployment, frequency of sexual activity≥4 times per month,2-3 miscarriages, having fertility needs in the past 2 years, and knowing that IUD can be placed immediately after abortion. Therefore, clinical education on IUD related knowledge should be strengthened and comprehensive promotion of care services after artificial abortion should be carried out.
