Screening and risk factors analysis of abdominal aortic aneurysm in Han nationality male in Chengdu area
Objective To explore the prevalence of abdominal aortic aneurysm(AAA)in the Han nationality male in Chengdu area and to analyse risk factors. Methods From 2014 to 2022,a census was conducted on male residents aged 65 and above at 24 nursing homes in Shuangliu County,Chengdu, and the Physical Examination Center of West China Hospital,Sichuan University. The screening items included general situation, physical measurement of comorbidities, lifestyle habits, and ultrasound indicators. The incidence rate was calculated. The risk factors for AAA incidence were explored by univariate and logistic stepwise regression analysis. Results A total of 7 132 individuals were included in the screening, and the response rate of the physical examination center was 2 518/3 638(69.2%);the response rate of nursing homes was 3 092/3 494(88.5%).The population participating in the screening was all male,Han ethnicity, with a prevalence rate of 5.17%(290/5 610).A total of 290 people with AAA were in the disease group, and those without AAA were in the non disease group. The incidence of abdominal pain, hypertension, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, smoking, and alcohol consumption in the disease group were higher than those in the non disease group(P<0.05).Hypertension,cerebrovascular disease, cardiovascular disease, and smoking were the influencing factors of AAA(P<0.05).Conclusion Ultrasound is feasible in AAA screening;hypertension, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, and smoking are risk factors for AAA in male aged 65 and above in Chengdu.
