Correlation between cystatin C and diabetic kidney disease
Objective To investigate the correlation between cystatin C(Cys C)and diabetic kidney disease(DKD).Methods Clinical data of 122 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)admitted to the Department of Endocrinology of Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital from January to December 2019 was collected.According to the urinary albumin to creatinine ratio(UACR),patients were divided into DM group(UACR<30 mg/g,89 cases)and DKD group(UACR≥30 mg/g,33 cases),the clinical data was compared between the two groups. The risk factors of DKD in T2DM patients were analyzed by logistic regression.Receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was drawn to evaluate the predictive value of Cys C in the occurrence of DKD.Results Systolic blood pressure, alkaline phosphatase, total protein, globulin, serum creatinine, urinary microalbumin, urinary α1-microglobulin,UACR,and Cys C in DKD group were higher than those in simple DM group, and the course of disease was longer than that in simple DM group(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that Cys C was an risk factor for DKD(OR=28.369,95%CI:1.208-666.129,P=0.038).The ROC curve analysis showed that, the area under the curve of Cys C predictive of DKD was 0.757(P<0.05).Conclusion Cys C is closely related to T2DM with DKD,and detection of Cys C can be used to evaluate the progression of DKD.
