Effect of Jiangu Capsules on elbow osteoarthritis of stagnation of qi and blood stasis type
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Jiangu Capsules in treating elbow osteoarthritis of stagnation of qi and blood stasis type.Methods A total of 90 cases of elbow osteoarthritis with stagnation of qi and blood stasis type in Cangzhou Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese Medicine-Western Medicine,Hebei Province from January 2018 to June 2021 were selected and they were divided into two groups according to random number table method,with 45 cases in each group.The observation group was treated with Jiangu Capsules combined with Sodium Hyaluronate,while the control group was treated with Sodium Hyaluronate alone.Both groups were treated for five weeks.The clinical efficacy of the two groups was compared.The Mayo elbow performance score(MEPS),affected elbow joint range of motion(ROM),visual analogue scale(VAS),matrix metalloproteinase-3(MMP-3),interleukin-1 β(IL-1 β),cartilage oligomeric matrix protein(COMP),transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1)in synovium before and after treatment were compared.The occurrence of adverse reactions of the two groups were compared.Results The clinical effect of the observation group was better than that of the control group(P＜0.05).After treatment,MEPS score and elbow joint ROM in both groups were higher than those before treatment,and VAS score in both groups was lower than that before treatment,and MEPS score and elbow joint ROM in the observation group were higher than the control group,VAS score in the observation group was lower than the control group(P＜0.05).After treatment,the levels of MMP-3,IL-1β,and COMP in synovial fluid of the two groups were lower than those before treatment,and the levels of TGF-β1 in synovial fluid of the two groups were higher than those before treatment,and the levels of MMP-3,IL-1 β,and COMP in synovial fluid of the observation group were lower than those of the control group,and the levels of TGF-β1in synovial fluid of the joint were higher than those of the control group(P＜0.05).There were no obvious adverse reactions during treatment in both groups.Conclusion Combined treatment with Jiangu Capsules can more effectively regulate the expression levels of MMP-3,IL-1β,COMP,and TGF-β1 in joint synovial fluid of patients with stagnation of qi and blood stasis type elbow osteoarthritis,and promote the repair of articular cartilage.
