Effect of Chlorhexidine Gargle assisted orthodontic depression treatment on the inflammation level and psychological status of patients with peri-odontitis
Objective To explore the effect of Chlorhexidine Gargle assisted orthodontic depression treatment on the inflammation level and psychological status of patients with periodontitis.Methods Ninety-two patients with periodontitis admitted to the 904th Hospital of Chinese People's Liberation Army Joint Logistics Support Force from February 2019 to February 2022 were selected as the research subjects.They were divided into the control group and the study group by using the random number table method,with 46 cases in each group.The control group received orthodontic depression treatment,while the study group received orthodontic depression combined with Chlorhexidine Gargle treatment.Two weeks after treatment,the efficacy,periodontal status,pain level,inflammatory factors,and psychological status between two groups were compared.Follow up for one year,the patient's recurrence outcome was recorded.Results The clinical efficacy of study group was better than that of control group(P＜0.05).Before treatment,there were no statistically significant differences between two groups in terms of probe depth,loss of gingival attachment,interleukin-6,prostaglandin E 2,self-rating anxiety scale,and self-rating depression scale(P＞0.05).Two weeks after treatment,the probe depth,gingival attachment loss,interleukin-6 and prostaglandin E2 levels,as well as self-rating anxiety scale and self-rating depression scale scores in two groups were lower than those before treatment,and study group was lower than that control group(P＜0.05).Overall analysis found that there were statistically significant differences in visual analogue scale(VAS)between groups,time point comparisons and interaction effects(P＜0.05).Intra group comparison:VAS scores of two groups one week after treatment were lower than those before treatment,and VAS scores of two groups two weeks after treatment were lower than those before treatment and one week after treatment(P＜0.05).Inter group comparison:after treatment for one and two weeks,VAS score of study group was lower than that of control group(P＜0.05).The recurrence rate in study group was lower than that in control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Chlorhexidine Gargle assisted orthodontic depression in the treatment of periodontitis can help suppress inflammatory reactions,alleviate pain,reduce negative emotions,and have good therapeutic effects.
