Effect of human epidermal growth factor eye drops on dry eye after phacoemulsification in cataract patients
Objective To explore the effect of Human Epidermal Growth Factor Eye Drops on dry eye after phacoemulsification(PHACO)in cataract patients.Methods Ninety patients with postoperative dry eye syndrome after PHACO admitted to Fuyang People's Hospital,Anhui Province from January to October 2023 were selected as the study subjects.They were divided into the control group and the observation group by using the random number table method,with 45 cases in each group.The control group was treated with Polyvinyl Alcohol Eye Drops,while observation group was treated with Human Epidermal Growth Factor Eye Drops in addition.Four weeks after medication,the efficacy,tear stream height,tear film stability,visual quality,and incidence of adverse reactions between two groups were compared.Results The effect of observation group was better than that of control group(P<0.05).After treatment,break-up time(BUT)of two groups were longer than that before treatment,fluorescein staining(FL),ocular surface disease index(OSDI),and standard patient evaluation of eye dryness(SPEED)scores of two groups were lower than those before treatment,and the tear river height and lacrimal secretion test(LST)of two groups were higher than those before treatment,and BUT of observation group were longer than that of control group,FL,OSDI,and SPEED scores of observation group were lower than those of control group,and the tear river height and LST of observation group were higher than those of control group(P<0.05).No significant adverse reactions were observed in two groups.Conclusion Polyvinyl Alcohol Eye Drops combined with Human Epidermal Growth Factor Eye Drops for the clinical treatment of patients with dry eye after cataract PHACO surgery can improve the therapeutic effect and the visual quality of patients by improving the height of tear river and the stability of tear film,and the drug is safe.
