Value of blood composite parameters neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio to prognosis predictions in the elderly patients with sudden deafness
Objective To explore the value of prognosis predictions neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(NLR)in elderly patients with sudden deafness. Methods A total of 147 elderly patients with sudden deafness treated in the Department of Otolaryngology, and Head and Neck Surgery, the First Affiliated Hospital of Kangda College of Nanjing Medical University from February 2019 to July 2021 were selected as the study objects, according to the prognosis, they were divided into the good prognosis group(104 cases)and the poor prognosis group(43 cases). The age, past history, and blood test indexes of the subjects were collected, and the general data of the two groups were compared, and multivariate logistic regression and receiver operating characteristic curve analysis were performed. Results Age,NLR,and platelet to lymphocyte ratio in poor prognosis group were higher than those in good prognosis group(P<0.05).Age(OR=1.154,95%CI:1.059-1.259),hearing loss(OR=2.668,95%CI:1.393-5.113),NLR(OR=1.719,95%CI:1.223-2.417)were the prognostic factors of sudden deafness in the elderly. The area under of curve of the NLR was 0.837,the sensitivity and specificity were 88.37%and 69.23%,respectively,and the truncation value was 4.23.Conclusion The NLR value contributed the most to prognosis predictions, which might be of practical clinical value in elderly patients with sudden deafness.
