Effect of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy on mental state and sleep in female patients with maintenance hemodialysis
Objective To analyze the effect of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy on mental state and sleep in female patients with maintenance hemodialysis(MHD).Methods Ninety-two female patients received MHD treatment from January 2020 to January 2023 in Huaibei Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected and they were divided into control group and experimental group according to the random number table method,with 46 cases in each group.Control group received MHD treatment and comprehensive management,while experimental group received mindfulness-based cognitive therapy on the basis of control group.Psychological status,sleep quality,and quality of life between two groups were compared.Results Four weeks after enrollment,self-rating anxiety scale,self-rating depression scale,sleep quality,time to fall asleep,sleep dura-tion,sleep disorders,sleep efficiency,sleep medication,daytime function score,and total scores in two groups were lower than those at enrollment,and those in experimental group were lower than those in control group(P<0.05).Four weeks after enrollment,kidney disease-related quality of life scale,short form-36 health survey,and kidney disease quality of life short form 1.3 scores in two groups were higher than those at enrollment,and those in experimental group were higher than those in control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy during MHD can help female with MHD improve their negative emotions,sleep quality,and quality of life.
